Ingredients

For Meatballs

  • ½ kg minced chicken
  • Onion 1 (chopped)
  • Ginger paste ½ tsp
  • Red chili powder ½ tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves ¼ bunch - chopped
  • 4 green chilies - chopped
  • Chickpea flour 1 tbsp
  • Poppy seed 1 tbsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Garlic paste ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder ½ tsp
  • Almond and pistachios for filling

To be blended together

  • Corn flour 3 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds 1 tbsp
  • Coconut 1 tbsp

For Curry

  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Onion 2 - chopped
  • Yogurt ½ cup
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder ½ tsp
  • Mustard oil

Preparation

Part 1 - Meatballs

  • Add all the ingredients to minced meat. Mix well.
  • Then add the blended mixture of coconut, sesame seeds and corn flour.
  • To that, add 2 tablespoon clarified butter. Mix well.
  • The mixture should be thick and sticky. Then make small balls.
  • Stuff a chopped almond and pistachio in each ball and set aside.

Part 2 - Curry

  • Pour mustard oil in your cooking pan and let it heat up.
  • Just when you start getting the aroma of the oil, throw in the chopped onions and fry them till golden brown.
  • While the onions are changing colour, whip the yogurt, mix all spices and whip further to reach a uniform consistency.
  • Add the yogurt to the pan of golden brown onions and keep cooking.
  • Cook till the oil separates and then add little water. Let it boil.
  • Then gently tip the meatballs into the boiling curry. Cover it and let it simmer on low heat.
  • Cook till the meatballs are done and the gravy thickens.

You can serve it with long grain Basmati rice or hot and soft naans or chapatis. Whatever it is, keep it ready because the aroma of this beautiful creamy curry will not allow you any time! You would want to dive right in the very minute it gets ready!
